South African High Commissioner Mr. Mthuthuzeli Madikiza and Deputy Head of Mission Christo Janse Van Noordwyk visited Descon on February 19, 2020. They were welcomed by Mr. Nadeem Bajwa, CEO Descon Engineering, Mr. Aamir Hadi, Advisor Corporate Strategy and Zainab Ahmad, Manager Corporate Communications.

The visit began with an introductory presentation on Descon, followed by a discussion on Descon’s planned expansion in South Africa and other African regions. The High Commissioner was keen to learn more about Descon’s expertise in providing technical and vocational training to skilled and semi-skilled workers and discussed the possibility of the two countries working together to train local workforce of South Africa.

The two parties further discussed opportunities where Descon can positively contribute to the South African economy. This included detailed discussion on lucrative opportunities in the power sector and renewable energy with reference to Operations and Maintenance services.

The High Commissioner assured his guidance and facilitation in connecting Descon with the right partners in South Africa to help them grow their presence locally and eventually contribute positively to the South African economy.
