The Manufacturing Division at Descon Engineering Limited recently launched the L2G (Learn To Grow) mascot in its quarterly Townhall. The activity was led by Mr. Taimur Saeed, President-Manufacturing Division, who stated at the occasion, “Descon strongly believes that its people are its priority and it takes pride to invest in their technical and leadership capability development. So keeping the same baton in hand, we are proud to launch the L2G initiative.”
Under the ambit of L2G, Subject Matter Experts of different technical departments will conduct a series of Tech Talks in the division for developing the employees’ cross functional technical capabilities in order to strengthen Descon’s future leaders talent pipeline.
The initiative is based on the Global Development Thumb Rule of 70:20:10. This is a commonly used formula within the development stream to describe the optimal sources of learning by successful managers. It holds that individuals obtain 70 percent of their knowledge from job-related experiences, 20 percent from interactions with others, and 10 percent from formal educational events.
The participants will be expected to go through the set curriculum, take tests, quizzes, practicals and simulations, eventually being eligible to be internally certified in different technical streams.
Open Communication is a core value of Descon and our CEO Communication Session is a key part of our overall strategy to promote an environment of open communication.
