Descon Oxychem Limited and Tetra Pak Pakistan Limited have signed an Agreement to jointly market ASEPTOX 35 (Hydrogen Peroxide based product) which has been developed by Descon as per custom requirement of Tetra Pak.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Alamgir Ahmad, Services Director of Tetra Pak and Mr. Imran Qureshi, CEO of Descon Oxychem Limited on January 20, 2020. Also in attendance were Mr. Taimur Dawood, Chairman Descon and Jorge Montero, Managing Director Tetra Pak.
Descon Oxychem is the largest producer of Hydrogen Peroxide in Pakistan which is a widely used commodity chemical used as an oxidizer, bleaching agent and antiseptic. Aseptox 35, a specially developed halal food grade product, will be used as a disinfectant in Tetra Pak’s food packaging machineries installed at various food industries across Pakistan. As this product was earlier being imported, this arrangement will not only benefit both the companies but will benefit Pakistan’s economy at large via saving valuable foreign exchange, more tax revenue as well as employment opportunities. Further, this development will benefit customers in terms of just in time inventory management, better customer service alongside more safe and secure operations.
Tetra Pak representatives shared that this is a first of its kind agreement for them in Pakistan and they lauded Descon’s standards and efforts to partner with Tetra Pak for such a challenging initiative. Both companies discussed in detail how the product was thoroughly tested across beverage, food and dairy segments to ensure customer satisfaction across industries when they go out into the market to promote this local product.
