A merit Scholar and medal-winning Graduate from the highly prestigious Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), where he was consistently placed on the Dean’s Honour List, Mr. Sheikh holds both an MBA and a B.Sc.(Hons.) In Computer Science. His leadership skills were brought to the fore whilst still a student at LUMS where he was an elected Class Representative for the MBA class, keeping him involved in student-affairs related policymaking, the re-design of the annual magazine- the LUMS Business Recorder and a myriad of campus activities. He has also served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate as well as graduate courses.

Starting his career as a Software Engineer in 2003, he switched to the financial sector 3 years later, beginning his journey as a Corporate Banker at the HSBC Global Banking division almost a decade ago, where his interest in Corporate Finance soon led him to Descon. In a relatively short span of time, his astute knowledge of both the manufacturing business and strong financial planning expertise and insight have ensured his meteoric rise from a Senior Finance Manager to becoming the Chief Financial Officer for Descon Oxychem Ltd. & Descon Chemicals Ltd, the two listed chemical companies in the Descon portfolio. He then moved on to become the Head of Functional Services at Descon Engineering, directly supervising the back-office finance, IT, payroll, and HR Operations. Yasir now holds the position of Chief Financial Officer at Descon Engineering Limited.
