Mr. Khan holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Punjab, Lahore and an MBA from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). His career at Descon began around fifteen years back when he joined PDIL, a joint venture Company of Descon and Enerlfex - Canada, as Director Business Development. He later took over as Chief Executive Officer of the Company. In his leadership PDIL grew from a small size EPC Contractor to a league of USD 100 m + Contractors and became the market leader in Pakistan oil and gas production & processing industry. In 2010, he took over, as President, the charge of Descon Integrated Projects (Pvt) Ltd. (DIPL) -an integrated  engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) company operating primarily in Oil and Gas, Wind Power, Hydel Power, Thermal Power and Fertilizer sectors. As P&L Incharge, he was responsible for strategic management, business development, project management, contracts negotiation & management, interfaces management, team development, systems development among other areas. His career got an interesting turn when he was given a challenge of leading support departments, QA/QC and HSE at Corporate Level. He could successfully invigorate these departments in less than a year time. He is now holding a position of Chief Risk & Compliance Officer responsible to monitor health of organization through project audit and analysis, Quality Assurance, HSE. He is also focusing on development and implementation of Enterprise Risk Management concept in the organization. Further, he is deeply involved in organizational change and improvement initiatives.
